The Development Studies Program comes in response to the needs of the Arab labor market. Several studies on activities and organizations related to development have shown the scarcity of human resources specialized in development and the need for these organizations and institutions to work on intensive training of their employees to cover the real needs of specialists and capable researchers working in these development institutions and organizations.

The department qualifies its graduates theoretically through the curriculum, materials, lectures and seminars, and practical qualification through workshops and field research, to be able to work in the ministries of development and planning, industry and trade, social development and political development, various media, humanitarian organizations, and civil society organizations, NGOs, and international organizations, in addition to centers of scientific research, studies and specialized consultations on the subject of development in all its aspects.
