Origin and development

The Department of Translation was established as one of the departments of the College of Languages, to obtain a bachelor’s degree in translation from English to Arabic and from Arabic to English. Teaching in this department is taught by a faculty who have a doctorate and a master’s degree, and the study in this program lasts for four academic years, during which the student is provided with the knowledge and skills required in the field of translation and its applications in various practical fields. The local and neighboring market, and after an extensive study of a number of Bachelor of Translation programs in a number of foreign and local universities, a study was prepared to open this program at the Faculty of Languages.

Section Message

Preparing scientifically distinguished cadres in the field of translation and effective in building society in line with our Islamic values.

Section goals

● To provide students with good knowledge in the field of translation, both theoretical and practical.

● Training students in the field of translation to be able to get jobs in the public and private sectors.

● Improving and expanding the grammatical aspect of students in both Arabic and English.

● Focusing their interest in the comparative study between the English and Arabic languages ​​by helping them to translate between the two languages.

● Raising their awareness of the role of technology and computers in learning and teaching translation.

Other department tasks

The College, represented by the Translation Department, performs official translation work from various foreign languages ​​into Arabic and vice versa for all documents such as certificates, protocols, transcripts, abstracts of scientific theses and research accepted for publication in refereed journals or accepted for participation in international or local conferences, in addition to introduction brochures and some guides. Institutions and all translated documents and papers are accredited internally and externally.
