6- Emphasis on the Egyptian and Arab identity through historical and archaeological studies.

8- Conducting training courses for teaching assistants and assistant teachers on modern scientific equipment to prepare them to travel abroad.

Objectives

1- The department hopes to establish a laboratory for training in restoring Egyptian and Islamic antiquities, with the aim of training all students of the department with its three divisions on restoration work in order to facilitate their participation in excavations and national excavations.

2 The department hopes to provide it with three “readers” to read the manuscripts, because there are many manuscripts in all the department’s specializations and scientific branches, but due to the difficulty of reading them, the department needs such devices.

3 The department hopes to provide it with a computer room to train all students of the department to research on modern technologies to keep pace with the labor market.

4- The department hopes to provide it with three buses of its own, and to conduct periodic practical training trips for the department with its three divisions, and not to limit the practical training to the effects of each specialization.

5- The department hopes to allocate a break in the following cities: Cairo, Rashid, Luxor and Aswan, to accommodate students and faculty members during the periodic practical training trip, which leads to the provision of the financial support allocated by the college in the past years.

6- Establishing a laboratory to train students to photograph archaeological artifacts that can be obtained during excavation.

7- Providing each room of the faculty members in the department with a computer to follow up the scientific material taught to the students of the department.

8- Converting the department’s library from a paper library to a digital library, in order to facilitate communication with the outside world.

9- The department hopes to provide it with a set of laboratories to teach specialized languages ​​related to scientific subjects within the department, such as the ancient Egyptian language (Hieratic, Demotic and Coptic), Persian, Turkish, Spanish, English and French, so that the student can open up to the outside world and know the latest specialized scientific research.

Department of Geography and Geographical Information Systems

The Department of Geography was established with the establishment of the Faculty of Arts, American International University in 2015. The study at the Bachelor’s level in the Department of Geography and Geographic Information Systems is divided into four years, during which the student studies a group of subjects concerned with physical geography, human geography and cartography in addition to some historical materials, and some Applied materials related to modern methods and techniques, in addition to remote sensing in geography and geographic information systems, and a set of basic cartographic materials, in addition to field research and applied project.

The study is divided into two divisions after the second year: the first: the division of geography and geographic information systems, and the second: the division of maps and geographic information systems. The research role, whether academic or applied, and supervising master’s and doctoral theses for graduates from teaching assistants or graduates, and following up on graduating students in the Department of Geography, who work in different fields by taking care, responding, and providing scientific and technical advice to any of them.

Graduates of the Department of Geography and Geographic Information Systems work in various bodies, companies and departments in the fields of industry, agriculture, planning, local administration, meteorology, resource management, environmental problems management, in addition to the field of education.

Academic Regulations

Program Specifications

Program name: Bachelor’s degree in Arts from the Department of Geography and Geographical Information Systems. The student is awarded a Bachelor’s degree after successfully passing the four semester courses distributed over four academic years, each academic year divided into two semesters.

Conditions for joining the department:

The department accepts students who have a high school diploma or its equivalent who have been accepted to the college

The department accepts only regular students

The department does not accept students with disabilities.

Conditions for joining the Survey and Map Division:

1- The department determines the number of students admitted to the division annually, not to exceed 25%

of the number of students transferred successfully to the third year (fifth semester), and the department may change this percentage in light of the laboratory and human capabilities available to it annually.

2- Students admitted to the division are selected after arranging the students applying for admission according to the cumulative total of the students’ grades in the second year.
