Introduction to the department

The College of Veterinary Medicine was established, in response to a national need to improve animal health and increase production capacity by increasing animal numbers, reducing production costs, and we hope to make a significant contribution to improving national income, providing food security, and maintaining public health. The college includes a number of facilities, laboratories, clinics, centers, medical units, and an advisory veterinary clinic. These facilities are used to provide training for university students and veterinarians in the private and public sectors. The college works to provide services and consultations to various institutions and farms. relating to animal health.

Vision

The department works to prepare qualified veterinarians specialized in the care and development of livestock and poultry to provide food of good and safe animal origin for humans, and to protect humans from common diseases, drug residues, pesticides and various pollutants transmitted to it from animals, birds and their products, and to strengthen the role of the veterinarian in preserving the environment community service, and providing appropriate care for domestic and wild animals and birds.

The mission of the Department of Veterinary Medicine is to supply the labor market with qualified veterinarians by preparing an infrastructure and knowledge and providing the technical skills necessary for the graduate of the department to compete locally and regionally, in addition to directing scientific research in the field of veterinary medicine to serve the community and its needs in various fields of the veterinary field.
